I am disappointed with the reasons, it was an abuse of rights. This is how the Speaker of the National Assembly and MP from the parliamentary group of the “BSP - United Left“ Natalia Kiselova commented on the reasons for the vote of no confidence in the “Zhelyazkov“ cabinet. The debates on the vote of no confidence, submitted by 59 MPs from “We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria“ (PP-DB), “Moral, Unity, Honor“ and “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms“.
We needed to hear what the government has accomplished or not accomplished in these nine months, Kiselova said. We heard from social policy to the problems of energy, the environment, internal security, public order, justice, she noted. The draft resolution requests a vote of no confidence in connection with the government's failure in the sectors of “internal security” and “justice”, Kiselova also stated. A large part of the motives repeat motives from the motion for a vote of no confidence from April this year, not six months have passed, she added. “Then, when a vote of no confidence is rejected, the motives cannot be used”, Kiselova emphasized. She recalled that there are two decisions of the Constitutional Court on this issue. According to her, criticisms related to problems in the past years were heard in the debate today.
We have a problem with the addressees, who is being asked for a vote of no confidence - two ministers, the government or the judiciary, the Anti-Corruption Commission, Kiselova also said. By 2023, you knew very well that it was better to elect members of the Supreme Judicial Council and inspectors than to move towards changes to the Constitution, she also commented. Now you are suggesting that we change the law again and postpone a possible discussion, this is evident in the motives, the Speaker of the National Assembly believes.
Kiselova believes that the discussed vote of no confidence shows abuse of the law. In nine months, this is the fifth vote, you are inviting a sixth, turning it into a routine that has no weight, she said. And she added that the government “Stanishev“ has survived seven votes of no confidence in four years.
