On Wednesday, the mayor of the village of Ognyanovo, Garmen municipality, published a post on Facebook, claiming that he was the victim of beatings and threats to his life. Ivan Izhbehov said that he was beaten by a local hotelier after he provoked an inspection for the presence of illegal mineral water probes in hotel complexes in the area. However, hotelier Valentin Chetrafilov maintains a completely different theory about what happened.
„I can't believe what's happening to this boy. I'm reading and I can't believe my eyes. He feels a grudge against me and other colleagues because we didn't give him money for the festival. We talked on the phone and he asked me: „Why don't you give money for the festival?”. I'm going to sue him. "He can't damage the image of my hotel like that," Chetrafilov is categorical.
However, the mayor claims that they spoke on the phone several times. He also said that he was attacked from behind and could not react. Izhbehov added that the hotelier threatened him to pay 200,000 leva to someone to kill him.
"I'm worried because he and his friends are influential people. I don't know what he's capable of," the mayor said.
