Earlier this morning, MPs from "Continuing the Change" blocked the entrances to the official parking lot of the parliament with cars so that the cars of the leaders of GERB and "DPS - New Beginning" Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski could not enter, they announced on the Facebook page of "Continuing the Change". The action is in support of the detainees - Blagomir Kotsev, mayor of Varna, and Nikola Barbutov, deputy mayor of Sofia.
We are starting a large-scale inspection of the National Program for Financing Municipal Projects, said MP Yordan Ivanov. We have collected dozens of signals from mayors that they are not receiving payments at the expense of other favored municipalities. We have repeatedly asked the minister's political office at meetings of the regional commission on what principle the payments are made, but there is no answer, said the MP.
The program has become an instrument for political pressure on freely elected mayors. We have requested solid information from the minister to prove that this program favors certain municipalities and exerts political influence on mayors, said Ivanov.
