Where there is a regime of water, we double the control. This was assured by the Chief State Health Inspector Assoc. Prof. Angel Kunchev. There is no increase in the number of patients in these places
„A very unpleasant situation! In the 21st century, to explain to someone that it is normal to be on a water regime, you do not need to be a specialist to know that this hides some health risks. At the same time, this situation is not from yesterday and today, we have experience with regions where this has been the case for years”, said Assoc. Prof. Kunchev.
According to him, in the absence of water, some alternative measures must be taken – disinfection, washing hands after using the toilet, before eating.
“For years we haven't had a severe, serious water-based epidemic outbreak that was transmitted through water, whether from water carriers or from the network, with constant stopping and starting. Where there is a regime, we almost double our control over the quality of drinking water. And when there are even the slightest deviations, we stop using it, with the full awareness that this aggravates the situation even more”, said Assoc. Prof. Kunchv.
Not always the most visible is the most dangerous, the specialist also says. People react when there is a deviation in the color of the water. However, this often happens in the spring, when there is precipitation, when the snow melts. However, it does not hide many risks.
Assoc. Prof. Kunchev assured that when there are deviations in the norms, the water is stopped.
About the mandatory chickenpox vaccine
„Very good news. We have been discussing the problem of chickenpox for a long time and everyone is convinced of the need for this to happen. When there are 25,000-30,000 diseases per year, even if the percentage of complications is small - 2-3%, this forms a significant number of children who enter the hospital”, said Assoc. Prof. Kunchev.
„The experience of many countries around the world, where it has been used for a long time, shows that the effect is wonderful - just a few years after its introduction, the incidence of chickenpox in general drops sharply”, explained Assoc. Prof. Kunchev.
