Presidential Advisor Plamen Uzunov Condemns Prosecutor's Office - 1

The Presidential Advisor on Legal Affairs Plamen Uzunov condemned the prosecutor's office for being illegally accused. For this reason, he will be paid compensation in the amount of 100,000 leva, "Focus" learned.

The reason - chats released in public space between Plamen Uzunov and Plamen Bobokov with interpretations. The court accepted that in this way the prosecutor's office and Ivan Geshev (at that time the chief prosecutor) violated the presumption of innocence as in his public appearances the chief prosecutor declared Uzunov guilty without this being official.

The prosecutor's office subsequently closed the case itself. Thus, it turns out that the demonstrative entry to search the presidency in the summer of 2020 and the detention of Plamen Uzunov, and the investigation conducted against him are in practice illegal and have caused him serious harm.

His health has deteriorated, his name has been tarnished, his prestige as a civil servant at the highest levels of the state hierarchy - as well.

He was unjustifiably deprived of access to classified information, of his hunting weapon and the opportunity to hunt, he was prohibited from traveling abroad, and this has made it difficult for him to perform his official duties as the presidential secretary for legal affairs.

The court has accepted that this public disgrace and accusation of serious crimes that he did not commit have led Plamen Uzunov to high levels of stress and to serious chronic illnesses that must be controlled for life.

The decision can be appeal to the CAS within two weeks of its service on the parties.
