Sympathizers of „Vazrazhdane“ gathered for another protest demanding the overthrow of the government.
As usual, the demonstrators are protesting on the yellow paving stones next to the National Assembly and the Bulgarian National Bank.
The protesters marched to the Sofia Municipality building with the intention of taking down the Ukrainian flag placed there.
Earlier today, the leader of „Vazrazhdane“ Kostadin Kostadinov called on Facebook all our sympathizers and supporters of the party who are in Sofia and the country to join today in the march to overthrow the “criminal government“. “Either us or them! The time has come for separation!“, he wrote.
The protest is attended by the deputy chairman of the “Vazrazhdane“PG; Tsoncho Ganev, as well as dozens of like-minded party members.
Patriotic songs are being played, and people are waving the “Vazrazhdane“party flag, the Bulgarian national flag and the Samara flag.
There is a heavy police presence. At this point, traffic is not closed and the situation is calm.
Today's protest will grow into a march against the ruling coalition. There are also voices for blockades and actions tomorrow. Whether this will happen will also depend on how many people gather here in the square, the organizers said.
Pensioners expressed their concerns to the Bulgarian National Radio, especially about the upcoming exchange of the lev for the euro:
"We want the lev to remain, the Bulgarian lev. We don't need the euro. We don't know the euro. We only know the lev. When we go to get our pensions, we don't know what they will give us. Pensions will be halved, as will salaries. When we see a larger number, we feel better. The entire Bulgarian population is like this," commented a pensioner.
