A meeting of the Consultative Council on Concessions is upcoming, when the new list of large infrastructure projects that will be developed - – “construction concessions“ will be considered. This was announced in Kyustendil by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov, quoted by “Focus“. The meeting is scheduled for October 1.
"Part of the “Rila“ highway, namely from Dupnitsa, through Kyustendil to “Gueshevo“ will be given to concession. This process will begin on October 1. Most likely, by the spring of next year, a consultant will be selected to conduct the analysis of how and in what way to finance this highway and how to pay back the private investment from its use,“ explained Minister Karadjov.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the good thing about this type of investment is that from the moment private funds are invested, the infrastructure itself becomes public-state property.
Minister Karadjov participated in a discussion forum on the topic “Transport Connectivity: Key Projects for Sustainable Development of Southwestern Bulgaria“.
