"I thank the Bulgarian volleyball team, the coaches, the entire staff of the volleyball federation for the huge success they achieved at the men's volleyball world championship, for the joy they brought to the entire Bulgarian people". This was said by Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Atanas Zafirov to journalists at the party headquarters.
"Undoubtedly thanks to the athletes, today we as Bulgarians have a reason to walk with our heads held high. I congratulate our men's national volleyball team from the athletes and coaches to the volleyball federation for second place at the world championship, as they proved that the results they achieve are the fruit of their team efforts”. This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports and MP from the BSP Parliamentary Group Gabriel Valkov during a press conference at the BSP headquarters.
He recalled that with the budget adopted for this year, 1/3 more money has been allocated for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, a resource that has been allocated for the renovation of existing sports facilities and the construction of new ones. – "With the adoption of the new budget, we will set a new increase by another 1/3 in the funds that will be allocated for Bulgarian youth and athletes"; Gabriel Valkov promised.
– "In recent days, in my capacity as Chairman of the National Water Board, together with Minister Ivanov, we have had working meetings on the topic of water shortages in Breznik, Tarnovo and Pleven. The board is working in two directions – overcoming the current problems with the lack of water and taking preventive measures to prevent future crises, "said Atanas Zafirov on this topic.
He gave as an example the water policy in Veliko Tarnovo, where there is no need to introduce a regime, but now is the right time to take long-term measures that will guarantee that they will provide water for the entire region.
"As of today, the water regime in Pleven is being eased. For the city of Pleven, the city of Dolna Mitropolia, the city of Trustenik, the village of Bivolare, the village of Bukovlak, the village of Opanets, the village of Pobeda and the village of Yasen. water supply will be restored in the morning from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and in the evening - from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day. In practice, the water supply time increases by 2 hours", said the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov in turn.
He emphasized that this is a step towards stabilizing the situation in Pleven and the pace of work remains high, because the ultimate goal is to have only a night-time water regime by the end of the year and there should be no release on this line.
"The replacement of critical sections of the internal water supply network continues, from 120 liters per second since August, 240 liters per second are currently being supplied. The reconstructed “Yasenski Canal“, which uses water from the “Dabnishka Bara“ river, has also been put into operation. The expectations are that the extracted water quantities will reach 320 liters per second," Ivanov also announced.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy Gergana Aleksova said on the occasion of the participation of Social Minister Borislav Gutsanov in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly: "Bulgaria was recognized as a flagship in the protection of children. The good news for us from there was the launch of a global initiative by Great Britain, in which Bulgaria occupies an important place."
She explained that in his speech, Minister Borislav Gutsanov emphasized that the debate on women's rights must return to where it belongs - to women's equal access to education, to the labor market, to the development of life opportunities and the right to choose. He added that Bulgaria will share its leading experience in caring for children without parents, in particular in removing them from homes, which is best for them. Aleksova emphasized that it was the Deputy Prime Minister of Great Britain, Keir Starmer, who proposed that Bulgaria be a partner in this initiative, spreading his example throughout the world.
