Two Bulgarians have been successfully evacuated from Gaza through the coordination of diplomatic missions. This was announced this morning by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Our compatriots were evacuated together with an elderly Palestinian citizen, a family member of one of them.
“The operation is well coordinated. The Bulgarians are traveling through Jordan. This will be neither the first nor the last operation to evacuate Bulgarians in need. There are certainly more of our compatriots, but at the moment when evacuation is necessary, we will act according to the established protocol“, announced Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.
The operation lasted over 24 hours, starting in the early hours of September 29. The three passed through Jordan with the help of our embassy in Amman, and then continued through Istanbul with the support of the Consulate General of Bulgaria.
