The salaries of military personnel were increased by 10% this year, the increase in remuneration in the armed forces will continue in the coming years. This will be part of the long-term care for the development of human resources in the armed forces“, said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during his speech at the solemn ritual of taking the military oath of the cadets of the 152nd graduation of the National Military University “Vasil Levski“ in Shumen.
Prime Minister Zhelyazkov noted that respect for the military profession is expressed not only in the recognition of society, but also in the constant efforts of the state to ensure constant and adequate payment of Bulgarian soldiers. “The income policy in the defense sector will continue to develop so that the profession of a military serviceman is attractive and dignified, and serving the Motherland is a conscious choice and vocation“, said Rosen Zhelyazkov.
In his speech, the Prime Minister also emphasized the modernization of the Bulgarian Army, indicating that it is among the main priorities of the government. “The sources of funding and the projects that will be implemented under the Program for Investments in the Armed Forces until 2031 are clear“, noted the Prime Minister. Rosen Zhelyazkov was categorical that the knowledge, preparation and resilience of the cadets will be a guarantee for the successful implementation of these projects and for the strengthening of national security.
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov emphasized in his speech that the military oath is a sacred vow before the altar of the Motherland – a promise to defend Bulgaria with honor, dignity and, if necessary, with their own lives. He wished the cadets success and expressed gratitude to their parents and relatives for their support and moral support.
Over 170 first-year cadets who are starting their studies at the higher military school took the military oath. The event was attended by the Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov, deputies, representatives of local authorities and senior military officers.
