The residents of the Popovo village of Zaraevo are voting for mayor today. About 50% of the village residents who have the right to vote went to the polls. Election day is proceeding normally.

So far, the Municipal Election Commission in Popovo has not received any complaints or signals, the chairman of the commission, Galin Tsankov, told Radio Shumen, BNR reports. He specified that election day lasts until 8:00 p.m., but if at that hour there are voters waiting in front of the polling station (which is one in the village of Zaraevo), the secretary of the section commission establishes their number and identity and election day can be extended while they exercise their right to vote. The extension of the election day, however, can take place until 9:00 p.m. at the latest, Tsankov specified.

Radio Shumen recalls that today's partial elections for mayor of the village of Zaraevo, Popovo municipality, came about after the position became vacant in May following the death of the regularly elected mayor of the settlement.

The voting activity reached 52% by 5:00 p.m. in the village of Belasitsa in Petrich, where a partial election for mayor is being held.

420 residents out of a total of 800 eligible to vote exercised their right. There are no signals of violations or complaints, announced the chairman of the Electoral Commission Borislav Kokonov.

There are three candidates for the position of mayor Velik Filchev, who resigned earlier this year. They were raised by the UDF, "DPS-New Beginning" and the Initiative Committee.
