„We can talk about the first more serious government crisis since the beginning of the mandate“, sociologist Dimitar Ganev said in „Face to Face“ after the statement of GERB leader Boyko Borisov yesterday.
He sees three options. According to him, the least likely is to go to new elections immediately.
„This seems very unlikely to me, because I don't think that any of the players, including GERB, is interested in early parliamentary elections. The fact that the electoral picture is currently like this does not mean that there is no risk of a new player entering the field. "There are clear enough hints from President Radev," Ganev commented.
According to him, he will shift the electoral picture.
„The second option, which is a little more likely, but also seems not so likely, is related to there being a serious transformation in the configuration. Namely, to change a lot of people in the cabinet, to move towards a new agreement, to portfolios, change in portfolios, etc.“, is the opinion of the sociologist.
According to him, a very serious transformation in the configuration is a very difficult effort, especially given the fact that the parliamentary majority is complex – is composed of four subjects.
According to Dimitar Ganev, the third and most likely option is for the government crisis to be resolved with several personnel changes - to replace several ministers.
„This long statement by Borisov and this tension at the moment cannot be resolved simply with some cosmetic changes. I think that there will be changes in the personnel composition of the Council of Ministers,“ is the opinion of the sociologist.
„We are certainly entering a difficult situation for the government,“ he summarized.
