„BSP-United Left“ declares readiness for any talks with the partners in the government in order to preserve the government. This was stated by the party leader and Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov, emphasizing that the stability and consistency of political forces are key for the country at the present time.
„We have a common political conclusion that the country needs stability and a stable majority, as well as consistency of political forces“, with these words Zafirov began the briefing.
On the topic of stability, the BSP held two meetings with the main topic being the looming government crisis. „We have always been categorically against holding talks between politicians through the media. We will not do it now either. Despite the attack on the BSP-United Left and the tension we did not provoke, which does not mean that we cannot respond in the same way, but in the competition – we will not participate“, Atanas Zafirov firmly stated.
And he concluded that “without the stable and predictable behavior of the BSP-United Left, this government simply would not exist“. “For us, government has never been and will not be an end in itself. We view the cabinet and the majority supporting it as a whole, although there is a certain tension in our structures regarding our participation in this government“, added Zafirov.
He categorically stated that “BSP-United Left“ are ready for any talks with partners to preserve the government. “The initiative for this must lie with the mandate holder. "These talks and these decisions cannot be at any cost, but they cannot be to the detriment of the people, the state and society," commented the BSP leader.
