Protest: Pleven residents demand justice after serious accident with two victims near Telish

Citizens in Pleven are protesting demanding a fair and speedy trial, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

The trial for a crash that occurred two years ago with two victims and two injured is beginning at the District Court. The protest is organized from 9:30 a.m. in front of the Courthouse.

The accident occurred on May 11, 2023 on the Sofia-Pleven road, after the junction for the village of Telish near the place where 12-year-old Siyana died, a car entered the oncoming lane, causing a traffic accident and killing 2 people, and two others were injured.

The mother of a 10-year-old boy (a passenger in the car) received life-threatening injuries in front of his eyes and died a little later in the hospital. The driver, who is the child's uncle, also died from his injuries.
