The government has allocated 15,000 leva in one-time benefits to the legal heirs of those who died in the floods in the Burgas region in early October. The decision was made at the proposal of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov.
The necessary funds of a total of 60,000 leva have been provided by the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP). The one-time benefits will be paid through the Social Assistance Agency. In this way, additional financial support will be provided for the families of the deceased.
In early October, the cabinet allocated additional assistance of 3,000 leva for those who suffered from the floods. They still have the option of receiving the one-time disaster assistance, which is equal to three times the poverty line – 1914 leva. They can also apply for funds for destroyed electrical appliances in the amount of up to 2500 leva from the “Social Protection“ Fund. In this way, the total support from the MLSP can reach nearly 7500 leva.
