The return to astronomical time will take place at 04:00 local time tonight, when clocks go back one hour. This was announced to BTA by the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology.
The change is in implementation of Directive 2000/84/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union of January 19, 2021, the institution recalls.
On March 30 this year, our country switched to summer time.
The calculation of winter and summer time is regulated by Decree 94 of the Council of Ministers of March 13, 1997, according to information from the "Reference" department at BTA. According to the decree, every year on the night of the last Sunday of October, winter time is introduced, with clocks being moved one hour back, and on the last Sunday of March, summer time is switched to, with clocks being moved one hour forward.
