Reshaping the government is the prime minister's job, GERB leader Boyko Borisov told journalists in Beloslav today. He specified that he had agreed with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov to “step into his place and manage the cabinet properly“ and if there are ministers who are not coordinating things, to take action, Borisov added.

He stressed that investments are being made throughout the country, regardless of which party the mayors belong to. “I divide the municipalities for a month, while there are elections“, said the GERB leader. According to him, after the vote, the parties that support the cabinet are working so that everyone everywhere feels good.

“Our goal is to have stability in the state“, Borisov also said, quoted by BTA. According to him, without the relations with the DPS-New Beginning, the country would not have a government today. “The adoption of the first budget in euros is imminent, which is something extremely complicated“, Borisov pointed out.

According to him, this task is not for a caretaker government. He also commented that the opposition parties have become so absorbed in their own affairs that they do not look at the big picture at all, they are not interested in what is happening in the state and what needs to be done, even geostrategically.

Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova did not comment on whether the state budget for 2026 will be more restrictive or not. She did not indicate what its macro framework will be. “At the moment, the process of preparing the draft of the State Budget Act for 2026 is being finalized“, said Petkova.

According to her, the draft budget will be submitted to parliament by the end of this month. According to her, it will meet all the requirements of both Bulgarian legislation and the requirements within the framework of the European Union.

When asked whether there will be early mayoral elections in Varna, the GERB leader indicated that he did not know the answer. “Whatever the court decides, we simply do not interfere in this issue“, said Borisov.
