A young man was seriously injured while hunting near Velingrad and was taken by air ambulance to a Sofia hospital, the spokesman for the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pazardzhik, Miroslav Stoyanov, reported, dariknews.bg.
He specified that the injured man is 28 years old, and the incident occurred during a hunting trip in a rugged and steep area in the area of the village of Draginovo. According to eyewitnesses, the man slipped and fell nearly 20 meters deep into a rocky ravine, Stoyanov indicated.
Arriving at the scene, a team of "Emergency Aid" determined that the victim's condition did not allow him to be transported by land, as it posed a danger to his life, so assistance from a medical helicopter was sought.
The young man was pulled out of the ravine by members of the hunting party, and subsequently teams from the fire department and the Velingrad District Office helped him be transported to the place where the air ambulance managed to land.
