Ivaylo Mirchev on Lukoil: First the state should take control, then the ownership should be changed - 1

The introduction of a special manager through whom the state can take operational control over “Lukoil“ is the right decision. The possibility of this was accepted at our suggestion some time ago. The so-called special manager will control everything except the ownership.“ This was stated by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev on the air of “Sunday 150“ on the Bulgarian National Radio and stressed that this should be done as a first step, after which a change of ownership should follow.

“The ownership should not be Russian. We will do everything possible for Lukoil to change its ownership. Instead of Borisov begging Trump and Putin for a derogation, let him once stand up straight and say that Bulgaria does not need this Russian property,“ said Mirchev.

According to him, the government is silent about whether the 90-day fuel reserves, which must be kept by law, are available. “Our concern is that they are not available. That is why we requested a hearing of the ministers in the energy committee, immediately after the imposition of the sanctions. The majority refused. We will propose a hearing in the plenary hall,“ Mirchev was categorical.

The co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ also commented on the upcoming budget for 2026. According to him, the big question is whether the government will manage to avoid a debt spiral and avoid entering the Romanian scenario. “Over 70 million leva. debt is taken out every day. Where does this money go that should return generations? Borisov must answer this question.“

The MP is categorical that Bulgaria must have a balanced budget and that the state must stop spending money that is not ours, especially when the government spends not on investments and economic growth, but on salaries.

„Money for pensioners is not a problem of the budget. The problem is the billions that are earmarked for theft. The 2025 budget includes 7 billion leva below the line, which are distributed through the Bulgarian Development Bank. At the same time, the administration continues to be inflated. The package of right-wing measures proposed by us provides for numerous measures to optimize expenses and administration.“

According to Mirchev, with the official entry of „DPS - New Beginning“ The ruling coalition is reinforcing the PP-DB thesis, which was the reason for the vote of no confidence in September, namely that Bulgaria is becoming a conquered country, in which one person decides what will happen to everyone else.

“In order for Bulgaria to develop, there must be justice. There is currently no such thing. There is a lot of corruption. There is not a single institution that works. Take for example just one sector - healthcare - where a large part of the 10 billion leva annual budget goes into the pockets of a few groups, but there are not a few million for young doctors. Or take the majority's refusal to accept our proposals for private hospitals to award public contracts for all services that are paid for by the health fund, in order to stop the state from paying tens of times higher prices for medicines,“ said Mirchev.
