Ivan Ivanov to bTV: BSP will leave the governing coalition if our basic principles are violated - 1

If the basic principles of the BSP for increasing incomes, the standard of living and guaranteeing social rights are violated, the left is ready to leave the governing coalition.

This was announced by the regional minister Ivan Ivanov, who was elected by the BSP quota. He was categorical that the left stops making compromises.

Ivan Ivanov commented that the BSP did not "sacrifice" the Speaker of Parliament Natalia Kiselova in order to remain in power. According to him, everyone in the government suffers negative things. According to him, stability and normality in the state are at the forefront.

"I supported the decision of the National Council, so was the majority. I supported it because Bulgaria has no other alternative for regular and normal governance, and this should be clear to everyone. There is a global crisis that will no doubt spread here as well. We need a backbone to lead the country“, he added.

According to him, the easier solution would have been to refuse to participate in the ruling coalition, but this would have been irresponsible on the threshold of Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone. “The coalition policy of the BSP is extremely high. So far, when we have always governed in a coalition, we have been a solid partner that provides balance until our basic principles are violated“, he specified and refused to assess the coalition culture.

The regional minister commented that not only the speaker of parliament, but also every representative of the government, has the right to choose where and how to meet with their voters. He rejected the claims that the BSP did not protect Natalia Kiselova. According to him, the ministries led by the left are not "on concession".

"This government will be so as long as everyone understands their responsibilities and commitments, outside of narrow-party selfishness and egocentrism, which should not be manifested. This government will exist and when one of the partners decides that its party stability is more important, this will undoubtedly lead to the end of this government", he added.

Ivan Ivanov described the criticism of his department for the "water meter fee" as unfounded, because it is not "based on historical facts and the course of the law".

"This law was created in the distant 2019 and the BSP, then as an opposition party, blocked its entry into the plenary hall 4 times. The last public discussion and the final version of this law was during the "assembly", when GERB and PP-DB jointly governed. I have never liked this option, I have always been against it", explained Ivanov.

The Regional Minister specified that the law in question is tied to the funds under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan. The Regional Minister suggests that the deputies reject the texts in question and find an optimal solution.

He explained that the fate of the regional water and sanitation operators, of which only 2 companies are in good financial condition, should also be decided in the law in question. "Investments in this sector are at zero, you saw what happened in Pleven and in practice, activities were carried out in one month that had not been done for years.

Ivanov reassured the citizens of Veliko Tarnovo that they are not threatened by a water regime due to the murky water in the region. The resignation of the director of the local water supply company will not be requested.

The regional minister specified that there are two illegal constructions in the submerged resort complex, and the DNSK has established that a correction was made to the bed of the Drashtela River, for which there are no documents.

"It will be pushed when the order to remove the illegal constructions comes into force. There is a lot of time until then. This illegal construction has been built on. Whether this will affect the structural integrity of these buildings, I cannot answer. Let them appeal, but let them think about it next summer, if such a wave passes – whether they will be in these houses“, the regional minister commented to bTV.

He specified that everything in the resort complex is entirely private property – streets, water supply network, sewage network, electricity network. "We cannot demolish anything by force, when these acts come into force – the state will have the opportunity to enforce the law.

Ivan Ivanov commented that traffic on the "Trakia" highway is already operating normally. There is only a temporary traffic organization in the section near Pazardzhik. On the "Hemus" highway, the repaired section from Yana to kilometer 0 should be opened by the end of next week.
