The overall producer price index in industry increased by 8.4% in September 2025 compared to the same month last year, the National Statistical Institute announced. During the month, prices decreased by 0.4% compared to August, with the most significant decrease being registered in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas.
Annual price growth was reported in all main sectors of industry. The mining industry recorded an increase of 22.3%, the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas increased by 12%, and the manufacturing industry increased in price by 10.8%, according to NSI data.
In the manufacturing industry, the most significant increase in price on an annual basis was observed in the production of basic metals, where prices increased by 22.5%. This was followed by the production of food products with a growth of 20.3% and the production of textiles and textile products excluding clothing with an increase of 16.1%.
A reverse trend was observed in the production of tobacco products, where prices fell by 16.6%, and in the production of furniture with a decrease of 12.6%.
On a monthly basis in September compared to August, a price increase in the manufacturing industry was registered in the production of textiles and textile products excluding clothing by 3.3% and in the production of beverages by 0.9%. A decrease was recorded in the processing of leather and the production of footwear, as well as in the production of wood and articles thereof excluding furniture - in both cases by 1.2%.
The producer price index on the domestic market decreased by 0.7% in September compared to August. On an annual basis, it increased by 9%, with the most significant growth observed in the production and distribution of electricity, heat and gas by 21.1%.
The producer price index on the international market increased by 0.2% compared to the previous month and by 7.6% compared to September 2024, according to official statistics.
