In the “Lyulin“ district, for the second time in a row, we managed to clean 9 out of 10 microdistricts. If something was not done yesterday, it was certainly done today. An example with the 8th microdistrict, which we cleaned completely. This was announced to journalists by Nadezhda Bobcheva, Deputy Mayor of Sofia for the “Green System, Ecology and Land Use“, quoted by Novini.bg.
“We are moving towards a permanent improvement of the situation in the “Lyulin“ area. Today, there were 7 large and 6 small trucks on the ground. In “Krasno Selo“, at the moment, sectors 8 and 9 of all the sectors we have have not been cleaned - residential area “Borovo“ and residential area “Belite Brezi“, and the assurance is that this will be done with the night shift“, she explained.
“I can categorically state that things are permanently improving, and everyone on the ground can see it. We have started a phased collection of large gray containers placed at critical points, as over time their need disappears. The point of “Zhitnitsa“ has been completely cleared of bulky waste and mixed waste. Our plans are to put a fence and a container there as soon as possible, in which waste can be disposed of separately“, added Bobcheva.
He explained that they know about today's protest, it is one of the 13 coordinated demonstrations for today: “As far as I understand, it is about the lack of garbage collection only in “Lyulin“. In fact, there is no lack of garbage collection and waste transportation in this area, there have been no unserved points in the last two days. Some of the organizers have political ties to parties represented in the SOS.“
Regarding the garbage collection in “Reduta“, “Slatina“ and “Iztok“, the deputy mayor explained: “We have terminated the large public procurement for these three zones, the appeal period is running. The Municipality's goal is not to create a crisis, we are looking for a solution, but I will not deny that we are holding talks with the district mayors themselves about an organization similar to the one in “Lyulin“ and “Krasno Selo“.
Regarding the denied assistance from the executive branch, she specified: “This assistance was provided to us that week, since then we have had no development on this topic. It was pure PR. Nobody has helped us, we've been on our own so far.“
