Dragomir Stoynev: "Dividend" tax will increase from 5% to 10% to stop the gray economy - 1

The "dividend" tax will increase from 5% to 10% to stop the gray economy. We have such an attitude in the Joint Management Council (JMC). This was told to the Bulgarian National Radio by Dragomir Stoynev from the BSP, chairman of the PG of "BSP-United Left", deputy chairman of the National Assembly.

"In this way, the private sector is handing out envelopes of money. When one tax is 10%, and the "dividend" tax remains 5%, all revenues go through the "dividend" tax, and some envelopes are made that are distributed to workers so that they cannot pay social security contributions. We will put an end to this. This is a good measure. The BSP is satisfied with this budget. We think we are going in the right direction".

The important thing about Budget 2026 is that there will be no reduction in income, he emphasized:

"The attitude is that the increase in salaries in the budget sphere should be 5%, which covers official inflation. ... This government is pursuing a fairly serious income policy. And justice is sought - for young doctors, and for all doctors along the chain, figuratively speaking, there will be an increase in income".

The retirement age will not be increased further, except for what was planned with the decision from 7-8 years ago, Dragomir Stoynev pointed out, specifying that there was also such a proposal.

"There is a huge disproportion between low pensions and the pension ceiling. At this stage, the ceiling will be frozen and it will eventually be thought of thawing it from next year. A very, very serious distortion is resulting, so this year the pension ceiling will remain frozen again. But according to the Swiss rule, pensions will be increased by between 7 and 8% from July 1st," he explained.

We have a plan and the ban on the export of diesel and aviation fuel is a concrete measure to prevent a large amount of fuel from leaving the country, so that there is no fuel crisis, Stoynev said in connection with the sanctions imposed by the US on the Russian oil companies "Rosneft" and "Lukoil":

"It is necessary to appoint a special manager for "Lukoil Bulgaria" as soon as possible, and the BSP's opinion is that not just one person, but about 10-15 people should be appointed at a management level in order to take control of the refinery in Burgas. This must go along with amendments to the law. Next week, the ruling parties will submit proposals for amendments to the law.
