Yes, Bulgaria insists that the 2026 Budget be withdrawn and rewritten VIDEO - 1

We are writing to Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova, weak left 2- and we insist that this budget be returned immediately. This was stated by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev on the sidelines of the National Assembly in a comment on the draft budget of the ruling party for 2026.

“We call on Temenuzhka Petkova to urgently withdraw the budget, review it and implement our right-wing measures, which we will send to her. We insist that the public be told honestly where these 5 billion leva came from, which appeared as a hole discovered by Martin Dimitrov and our economic team. Someone is playing with the state budget as if it were their home wallet”, Mirchev was categorical.

The political leader emphasized that the budget presented on the website of the Ministry of Finance is extremely harmful to the country and risks putting it in a scenario from the time of Zhan Videnov. Mirchev also commented on the proposal to introduce SUPTO - state software that would be introduced in all commercial establishments and control them from January 1, 2026.

This madness must be stopped. It will take months, most likely at least a year, to implement this software. The software companies that develop it are not ready for this. An attempt has already been made and the bad thing is that just implementing it in retail outlets will cost at least 200-300 million leva according to the most conservative estimates. This is extremely dangerous and it looks as if someone put it up as a smokescreen to get the other scandalous proposals passed”, commented Mirchev.

The MP expressed bewilderment regarding the discrepancies between the current draft budget and the three-year budget framework presented by the Ministry of Finance seven months ago.

“None of the parameters match. We have an increase in taxes, social security contributions and the maximum social security income by twice what the Ministry of Finance envisaged just seven months ago. What has changed in the economic situation in these 7 months to necessitate a change in the three-year budget framework,” asked Mirchev.

The economist from the PP-DB group Martin Dimitrov also insisted on dropping the increase in the “Dividend” tax and ending the “war of the leftist government with business and the middle class”.

They promised not to raise taxes, right? Why did they lie? We want the social security burden not to be limited - there is no reason for this. We want these 5 billion leva, which we opened as the government's piggy bank and can be spent on anything, there is no reason for such a large new debt - it must also be dropped. We want the budget redistribution to return to 40%. GERB has given up on being a right-wing party with these 46% redistribution. Even during Oresharski's time, the situation wasn't that bad. Let them withdraw the budget and rewrite it," Dimitrov concluded.
