This was said by Georgi Todorov, mayor of the "Lyulin" district, in response to the words of Mayor Terziev that the Sofia Municipality should sign a contract with a management company that offers twice the price.
It must be confirmed very clearly that the life and health of citizens are a priority and whatever wars are waged, they should not be at the expense of health and the urban environment. I appeal to stop politicizing the topic of garbage. A lot of effort is being made by both the Sofia Inspectorate and the company that serves the "Lyulin" district. But these efforts do not give the full result that people expect. In "Lyulin" There are 1,500 containers for general household waste, which should be disposed of every day so that there is no accumulation. Currently, there are between 6 and 8 trucks for "Lyulin" on the ground, which are part of the capital's waste treatment plant. In principle, this number is sufficient for daily processing, but at the moment, garbage is disposed of from one container every two or three days, Georgi Todorov explained.
According to him, the situation with garbage in the "Lyulin" area is normalizing. "But citizens continue to see that garbage collection is not at the required level," he added.
