MPs will discuss whether to allow the abolition of the obligation of carriers transporting passengers on intercity bus lines in municipalities whose administrative center is located in another municipality to use bus stations.
The change to the Road Transport Act will in practice be applied only in four municipalities in Bulgaria - Dobrichka, Maritsa, Rodopi and Tundzha, which cover a total of 151 settlements.
Their problem is that the lines are unprofitable and they have difficulty finding carriers for them. At the same time, the bus service is often the only way for residents to get around.
The proposal was submitted by MPs from the parliamentary majority formations - GERB-SDF, DPS-New Beginning, BSP and ITN.
Before that, the MPs must adopt the procedural rules for candidacy and election of the Director General of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.
The agenda also includes a discussion at first reading of a completely new Law on Safety and Security during Sports Events, submitted by MPs from GERB-SDF, as well as final adoption of the changes in the laws on electronic communications and on financial instruments markets.
The National Assembly must also ratify a framework agreement for a loan in the amount of EUR 250 million with the Council of Europe Development Bank.
