The Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan opened the international conference “Vision 2050 - Building Bulgaria's Competitiveness as Part of the Global Future“, with which the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (ACB) is celebrating its 30th anniversary. In her welcome address, Nazaryan defined the chamber as a “leading business organization“ and emphasized that economic competitiveness is a major political priority for any modern economy, BTA pointed out.
“It is my great pleasure to congratulate the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Over all these years, it has established itself as a leading business organization that unites more than 350 established American, Bulgarian and multinational companies operating on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria," said Raya Nazaryan and noted that the Chamber works actively to build connections and relations between the leaders of the American, Bulgarian and international business community and initiates numerous significant events in the field of economics, politics and social activities.
Today's event once again brings together Bulgarian experts, business leaders and international partners of the Chamber to discuss the key challenges and opportunities for Bulgaria's economic development in the coming decades in the context of global changes, she emphasized.
In her words, initiatives such as today's contribute to the strategic dialogue on important topics such as competitiveness and national security, strengthening transatlantic partnerships, promoting innovation and sustainable development in various sectors, and examines the opportunities for developing relations between the United States and the European Union (EU) as the largest economic area in the world, which produces over 1/3 of the world's gross domestic product.
„Economic competitiveness has long been one of the main political priorities of the EU, and every modern economy strives for competitiveness, a sustainable rate of productivity, efficient use of resources, innovation, income growth and increased well-being of workers", said the Speaker of Parliament.
Nazaryan is convinced that this high-level international forum is a platform for the exchange of ideas and will hear messages for determining the direction of sustainable economic development of Bulgaria and the development of international relations for the benefit of the business community and Bulgarian citizens. „I wish the forum success", concluded the Speaker of Parliament.
„The questions „On what basis and under what rules do we want Bulgaria to develop?” and „What kind of Bulgaria do we want to build together?” are of utmost importance for both business and the political elite and, above all, for the individual citizen of our country. As a 30-year-old organization, we are aware of our responsibility to protect the interests of our members, to uphold our principles and positions and to make efforts to develop the investment climate in our country. But we must also set the tone for building our common future, to be technological pioneers, to follow the principles of sustainable development – and last but not least – together to dream freely and think boldly and responsibly”, describes the concept of the event Ivan Mihaylov, CEO of ATK.
The conference will bring together some of the leading experts, business leaders and international partners of the Chamber to discuss the key challenges and opportunities that will shape the development of Bulgaria in the coming decades.
Among the main speakers of "Vision 2050 – Building Bulgaria's Competitiveness as Part of the Global Future" will be presented by futurist Gerd Leonard and IT specialist Ryan Coat.
