The ruling majority has set up a "secret committee" for "Lukoil" this morning in the National Assembly. This was stated to journalists on the sidelines of the parliament by the leader of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov, quoted by BTA.
According to him, the extraordinary energy committee was convened from 09:00 to 09:10, but at 09:10 it had already ended.
The drama in parliament is unfolding against the backdrop of the news that the Swiss company "Gunvor" is withdrawing its offer to acquire the foreign assets of the Russian energy company "Lukoil". This happened after the US Treasury Department designated the company as a "puppet" of Russia and announced that it would not receive a license for the deal.
According to OFFNews, the Energy Committee adopted "literally in 30 seconds" an urgently submitted bill. The changes expand the powers of the "special manager" of "Lukoil" in Bulgaria, and he will be able to dispose of the company's assets, including selling them.
The leader of "Vazrazhdane" described the situation in parliament as "unprecedented".
"This is about the theft of a huge asset," he claims. Kostadinov commented that the moment the Bulgarian state, represented by Peevski and Borisov, "encroaches on this asset", it will create "very serious problems".
"Bulgarian assets in Russia will be confiscated", warned Kostadin Kostadinov.
According to him, people who are "panically trying to prevent the fuel crisis" have no idea what is about to happen.
