The situation with “Lukoil“ is not from yesterday and there is no reason for the problems with the company to be solved in the way it is happening now. This was stated by the former Minister of Innovation and Daniel Lorer on the occasion of the amendments to the Law on the Administrative Regulation of Economic Activities Related to Oil and Petroleum Products adopted in the Energy Commission in 26 seconds.
“Bulgaria should have taken measures similar to those in Germany and Italy a long time ago - to introduce a special administrator to take control of “Lukoil“ and through gradual pressure to bring about a sale, long before it came to American sanctions“, Lorer commented.
He recalled that during the time he was part of the government, the necessary rules for this had already been prepared, despite serious resistance. “The situation with "Lukoil" is not from today, yesterday or two weeks ago. There is absolutely no reason for things to happen this way. We know that they are sanctioned and that Russia declared us an enemy country years ago," he said.
According to him, the current government had enough time to act, but it did not. "Their main problem is that they cannot communicate with the whole of Bulgaria what they intend to do. They do not communicate with the parliament, nor with the government. Ultimately, the government must decide this issue, not individual deputies who are passing some strange bills at 8:20 a.m.," he noted.
"The special manager has the right to sell shares of "Lukoil" to whomever he sees fit, after approval by the Council of Ministers," he explained.
