This administration owes some transparency, what necessitates the drawing of the large debt and why the deficit is on the verge. The conversation about the budget is a conversation about policies. Instead of explaining to us why they don't like this budget, they should answer the Bulgarian society what they will spend it on. This was said by political scientist Hristo Panchugov in “Face to Face“ on bTV, quoted by novini.bg.

There are two very important lines in this budget – it is opaque in terms of spending and it is populist. No one can say that they see any strategic or economic logic to this budget, sociologist Dobromir Zhivkov said.

According to him, the budget is populist, which must win the people's sympathy before the elections. The big question is where Bulgaria's future lies with such a budget and whether the country's prospects will not deteriorate over the next 5-6 years, the sociologist pointed out.

First of all, no budget has ever won an election in Bulgaria. In this sense, I doubt that this is the ultimate goal. Rather, we can suspect them of resource allocation. I think that this budget can create such a complex coalition at this point. This money has not been spent yet, explained Panchugov.

On the topic of “Lukoil“, Zhivkov noted that this election is taking place in a crisis situation. This could not have been coordinated with our partners. The political drama here is not that great. I hope this will be a path to finding a strategic investor.

Hristo Panchugov added that politicians very quickly forget their principles when it comes to making such crisis decisions and this is felt by the citizens. This move was surprising even for the opposition itself. The important thing is that beyond the figure, the special manager has to understand the management of this complex structure. This is not a task for one person. The deal must be prepared in such a way that a normal investor is found. We should direct our energy there, and not towards the specific figure.
