The Municipal Election Commission (MEC) will meet on three signals against Mayor Blagomir Kotsev on Sunday, November 23, the MEC announced today, quoted by dariknews.bg. The last signal is from November 21.
In a letter to the media in Varna, the MEC specified that the announcement about the meeting was published on the commission's website. The meeting is fully compliant with the deadlines provided for in the Electoral Code, and is therefore being held on Sunday.
All members of the MEC have been invited in a timely manner. Blagomir Kotsev's lawyer has also been notified, and the commission has received a return receipt from the mayor, which certifies that he is familiar with all the documentation on the inspection carried out by the OIC.
The work of the commission has nothing to do with the criminal case against Blagomir Kotsev, nor with the consideration of his detention measure, scheduled for November 27, the OIC emphasizes. They specify that the proceedings before the commission consider different types of issues and are conducted regardless of whether the person concerned is detained or at large.
