By the end of today, the deadline for submitting proposals by deputies between the first and second reading of the draft budget of the State Social Insurance for next year expires.

At the moment, no changes have been submitted by the parliamentary groups of the ruling coalition and the MRF-NN.

Hasan Ademov from the "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" proposes an increase in funds for personnel in the National Social Security Institute, so that the salaries of those employed there would be increased by 10 percent, rather than the proposed 5 percent.

Deputies from the same parliamentary group propose freezing the minimum social security income for livestock breeders, fruit, vegetable and tobacco producers next year, and for Easter and Christmas, determining an additional remuneration for all pensioners of 392 euros.

Deputies from "Vazrazhdane" propose that next year, no insurance contributions for the additional mandatory insurance in private funds should be collected, and that businesses should pay only the first day of sick leave, and that the compensation for the second day should be borne by the National Social Security Institute.

The ruling majority is expected to introduce amendments to the Health Fund budget bill today, which will determine the rules for distributing the targeted 260 million euros for salaries of medical staff in hospitals in our country.

The bill was approved at first reading in the plenary hall on Thursday, and today the deadline for proposals before its second reading expires.

This evening, doctors from the "Future in Bulgaria" initiative are protesting under the slogan: "You won't lie to us".

Although the report of the budget committee, which approved the budget of the Treasury on first reading, states that 260 million euros are earmarked for salaries of young doctors, nurses and midwives, according to the chairman of the health committee, Kostadin Angelov, the earmarked funds are for the entire hospital staff.

According to the latest decision of the Joint Management Council announced by him, 30 million euros will be directed to structures subordinate to the Ministry of Health, and the remaining 230 million euros plus another 34 million euros will be distributed between state, municipal and regional hospitals. This will be done according to a methodology that guarantees reaching the minimum levels of pay for doctors and nurses, Angelov explained.

The protesting young doctors also expect to find out how the earmarked funds for salaries will be distributed. The protest will be held in front of the Ministry of Health.
