The “Magnitsky“ coalition is another cabinet that is picking at the pockets of Bulgarians and pouring money into Ukraine, while its defense lines are crumbling, and corruption scandals are raging in Kiev, this is what President Rumen Radev commented to the media.
"We see a rational plan for a quick peace by President Trump, who clearly sees that the situation on the battlefield is developing unfavorably for Ukraine and is trying to prevent the development of an extremely unfavorable scenario and prevent new victims. For its part, Europe insists on being a factor with its own demands, but it must assess whether Europe is ready to take responsibility if we miss the moment for peace now, whether the next negotiations will not be held under much less favorable conditions. Even in this new proposal from Europe, it is written that the current front line is a starting point for territorial discussions. This means that there will be negotiations for territories," he added.
In his words, Bulgaria must have a clear position in this situation. "But I remember a film in which an officer was huddled in a trench and, trembling, constantly put on and took off his epaulettes depending on whether the enemy was advancing towards his trench or retreating. And our job is like that. Some politicians were kissing the Ukrainian flag until yesterday, today they are now waving it, now returning it - a pitiful thing," the head of state was indignant.
Regarding the constant and unabated tension with our neighbors from the Republic of North Macedonia, he pointed out that it is high time for the RSM to begin an effective investigation and criminal prosecution for all encroachments on Bulgarians there.
"This is the only way for this country to achieve European integration, I have stated it very clearly", added President Radev.

When asked whether he foresees radicalization of the protests and public discontent around all this, he said that it is possible.
„Because this is a budget of broken dialogue. This is very important. This is a budget of opposition and deception. Because it has never been adopted budget without coordination with employers. Never before has a budget so strongly opposed administration to business. And no budget has ever cheated so obviously with absolutely unrealistic revenues“, he said.
