This budget is an absolute declaration of war on the middle class in Bulgaria. This was stated in the program "Osche ot dne" Ivaylo Mirchev, MP from PP-DB and co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria".
"There is no division into classes. What he (ed. Peevski) says is that all people are the same. We do not think that all people are the same. People are different, there are people with different value systems. What we are saying, however, is that unlike Peevski, who declared war on the middle class back in 2013, Borisov did it now."
According to Mirchev, there is no dispute about whose protest it was in the middle of the week.
"No one disputes the authorship. The protest belongs to the people, to the angry people who came out, dissatisfied with what is happening in the country. It does not belong to one party, it does not belong to several parties, it does not belong to any employer organization, it does not belong to Borisov, it does not belong to Peevski, it belongs to the people who simply came out.“
The MP stated that the PP-DB believed Borisov's words that the budget would be withdrawn, but they were wrong.
"Well, if we believe the politicians in Bulgaria, after a politician comes out and says - I heard the people at the protest, because Borisov did that. He said “Every protester and their opinion is important to me. And since I heard the protest, I withdrew the budget.“ Then we declared the protest a success. And that was the logical action. However, a few hours later, Peevski, through Atanas Zafirov, pulled his ears and Borisov changed his mind and the withdrawal of the budget was dropped."
According to the MP from the PP-DB, they made various proposals to change the budget, but they were not heard.
"For months, we have been repeating and proposing, by the way, we have been active not just in being dissatisfied with what the government is proposing, we have been proposing reformist, right-wing measures, quite reasonable measures, so that the budget looks good, does not obligate us to our children and grandchildren, has a reformist spirit, not just increases in salaries, there is optimization in various areas, none of that. None of our proposals were accepted. Instead, we saw a new 20 billion, with which we will go into debt, entering a debt spiral, entering a Romanian, a Greek scenario, increasing salaries in the Ministry of Interior by 68%, in the State National Security Agency by 100%, but for young doctors 0%. The Metropolitan Library has not increased salaries by a penny for 3 years, they were offered a 7-8 penny increase a few months ago, which was an insult. Obviously, for some it is possible, for others it is not possible. "
Mirchev explained why the PP-DB announced readiness for a new protest.
"Borisov constantly breaks his promises and since we do not want to be deceived and obviously we will see how many people on Monday at 6 pm will not want to be deceived either. We are holding this protest again, which I must say again - it is not our protest. It is a protest of angry people. "
