This week, the government is expected to make an attempt to restart the budget procedure and continue with the adoption of the plan of accounts for 2026. Last week, protests and dissatisfaction of various classes led to a decision to put the budget on hold.
Two meetings followed between the government with employers and unions, at which an agreement was reached to search for the "golden ratio" in the words of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.
It is expected that on December 2, when there will be another meeting in the "four-party" format, the new parameters on which an agreement has been reached will be officially announced. A report will then be submitted to the Budget Committee of Parliament to allow for a second reading of the NHIF and DOO budgets and new amendments to the state's central budget.
