The "Velichie" parliamentary group organized an open day at the “Historical Park” in the village of Neofit Rilski, NOVA reported. The reason is "the numerous attacks by other political parties, because the complex is a pyramid and was built through fraudulent schemes".
The leader of “Velichie” Ivelin Mihaylov personally showed visitors around the complex, inviting the members of parliament to see what was built in the area without state funds.
The Sofia Court of Appeals remanded five out of a total of 7 defendants in the “Historical Park" case in custody. They are accused of participating in a criminal group for embezzlement, money laundering and fraud.
“For many years, there has been a campaign against us that we stole investors' money and did nothing here”, commented Mihaylov.
“In the end, the entire site costs over 500 million leva. This is real. We have always called appraisers to come and see what we have done. The most important thing is that this thing can produce money for the Bulgarian economy”, he believes.
“We wanted people to get acquainted and come to the site to see. Because it's one thing to make suggestions on the Internet and on television, it's another thing for people to come and see it on the spot," added Mihaylov.
