A generational change is coming and older people must really accept it. This was told to NOVA by the former Speaker of Parliament Vezhdi Rashidov.
“A prime minister is not given unsolicited advice. There is no way I can interfere with Rosen Zhelyazkov, because he is the prime minister, he is the boss, he is the leader. In culture, I try to help him in every way, because there are problems there too”, shared Rashidov.
He explained that the current protests are not the first and will not be the last, neither in the world nor in our country. “We witnessed many protests, I myself have protested”.
“I observe these processes because I myself am also a restless soul. At least I was when I was young. I am interested in these people, I am aware of myself. A generational change is coming and the older generation must truly accept this. They must tolerate and give the young people the opportunity to make their lives the way they want to live it”, believes Rashidov.
He shared that the previous protest, which was against GERB, was also very interesting to him. “There were many young, beautiful faces of young people, students, mothers with children. It was a very interesting protest. It was clearly visible from the neighboring buildings, I was not at the protests themselves”.
“I was pleased to see a new generation that is looking for its own path. But at the same time, we saw a lot of bad footage - burning buckets, smashing cars, pushing. The fact that there are people who incite, or at least pay, is very ugly. It worries me, this is the path to anarchy,” he commented.
According to him, people have the right to protest, but the very denigration takes away the energy for which they came out with their ideas to the square.
