The head of the capital's 05 Regional Police Department-SDVR Plamen Maksimov was detained today (December 12), bTV reported. Several officers involved in the fight against drug crime were detained during the operation.
The operation was carried out by the Directorate for the Prevention of Drug Trafficking and Internal Security and the Internal Security Service.
Plamen Maksimov was appointed director of the Fifth Regional Department in 2022 by the acting Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Demerdzhiev. The previous director was replaced due to a lack of sufficient control over police officers who had patronized Georgi Semerdzhiev.
