Alexander Simov: PP must bear responsibility for the resignation of the cabinet and the protests - 1

On the air of “Wake up“ on NOVA, the three journalists Silvia Velikova, Viktor Ivanov and Alexander Simov analyzed the current political situation in the country, focusing on the protests, the behavior of politicians and the upcoming elections.

According to Silvia Velikova, the thousands of protesters in the squares do not have a common political representation.

„The young people promised in various interviews that they would be critical of anyone who takes power“, she added.

Velikova also commented on the distributed online list of names of journalists who should be taken off the air, indicating that this is probably the work of trolls and has been republished by other individuals.

„Politicians divide journalists into „ours“ and „yours“. It is high time they understood that journalists should be critical of everyone,“ said Velikova.

Alexander Simov noted that politicians prefer to meet only with journalists who will not ask them uncomfortable questions.

“Now we see more and more political figures who avoid such interviews,“ he said.

Viktor Ivanov added that some politicians appoint journalists and refuse to talk to them, instead posting clips on social networks.

The journalists also discussed the president's consultations on forming a new government. Velikova stressed that it is important to understand whether President Rumen Radev is conducting the consultations as a potential candidate for the elections or as an arbitrator in the constitutional procedure.

“After the quick scheduling of the consultations, it seems that he will not participate in the elections“, Velikova believes.

Simov pointed out that the “We Continue the Change“ party must bear responsibility for the resignation of the government and the protests.

Ivanov warned that any chaos would benefit the MRF-New Beginning, which presents itself as the supporter of stability and could regain control over the voters.

According to Simov, it is not possible for the current parliament to resolve the political crisis, and Velikova is categorical that new elections are inevitable.

“Radev has an interest in running for office now because he has serious political opponents who want to postpone his run for office,“ Simov added.
