As a politician, I believe that in politics there is no place for raised fists, no place for slaps, no place for kicks. This was said in the program “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” Prof. Kostadin Angelov, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, MP from GERB.
“For GERB, comfort has never been in the first place. For us, it has always been important what the priorities are for the state and finding ways to solve them. We are satisfied with this period in which we bore the political responsibility to form a government”, said Angelov.
“We reanimated a dead Recovery and Sustainability Plan. We are in third place in terms of economy in Europe. We have 25% more investments. We left the monitoring mechanism of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. We entered the eurozone”, he commented.

According to him, Borisov believes that the first part of the protest, which took place peacefully, did them a golden job, because thanks to the energy of the people and their voice, a large part of the political formations finally matured for the fact that social dialogue must be restored.
“It seemed to us that it is very important for employers and unions to sit down together with the government and restore the dialogue in the Tripartite Cooperation Council. That is why this protest, its first and peaceful part with the real citizens who said what they think and what they are dissatisfied with, did this golden job”, explained Angelov.
According to him, GERB has never felt the need to attach the party to another political formation. “Many times our leader has said that it is important for GERB that we put our own house in order”.

“The first party we invited to form a parliamentary majority was “Democratic Bulgaria”. If the colleagues had the political courage and maturity to agree to participate in such a government, they could be the guarantor that Peevski would not have any influence in this government. The truth is that the PP-DB have always been afraid of bearing political responsibility,” he believes.
According to him, when they were in the “assembly”, they did not raise the issue of the Supreme Judicial Council. “We had 160 votes - enough to elect the SJC. Then they did not raise the issue of machine voting because they did not yet believe in the correctness of the software. But the difference between 2021 and now is that currently the right companies are working with this software”.
“We clearly stated that our main goal would be to submit a protracted budget. And if you review the transcripts of the Council of Presidents this morning, our thesis back then was to sit down and figure out whether we can adopt the extended budget today in two readings”, commented Angelov.
According to him, the PP-DB as a political formation is looking for an excuse to take people out onto the streets. “As a politician, I believe that in politics there is no place for raised fists, no place for slaps, no place for kicks. I have never seen anyone enter this way easily and quickly”.
“Politics is a place where you have to refute your opponent with words. The first to reach for the stick and the stone is the one who has no arguments”, he believes.
