The food price index on the stock exchanges in our country continues to rise this week, according to data from the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT), cited by BTA.
The market price index (MPI), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in Bulgaria, increased by 0.59% to 2.378 points from 2.364 points a week earlier. The base level of the index of 1,000 points dates back to 2005, news.bg specified.
Among vegetables, the most serious price increase was recorded for cucumbers - by 13.61% to 4.59 leva per kilogram. The price of tomatoes also increased - by 1.25% to 3.08 leva per kilogram. There were insignificant changes in potatoes, which are traded at 0.92 leva per kilogram, ripe onions - at 0.93 leva per kilogram, and red peppers - at 2.60 leva per kilogram.
At the same time, a sharp drop in the price of cabbage was recorded - by 19.2% to 0.69 leva per kilogram. Zucchini prices also fell significantly - by 11.05% to 2.19 leva per kilogram. Green peppers are also cheaper - by 5.37% to 2.29 leva per kilogram, as well as carrots - by 2.6% to 1.05 leva per kilogram.
Among fruits, grapes are more expensive - by 6.07% to 3.32 leva per kilogram, and apples - by 3.86% to 2.15 leva per kilogram. A decrease in price is reported for oranges - by 6.38% to 2.20 leva per kilogram, lemons - by 5.14% to 3.10 leva per kilogram, and bananas - by 4.74% to 2.61 leva per kilogram.
The price of cow's cheese fell by 0.29% to 11.80 leva per kilogram, while "Vitosha" type cheese increased in price by 1.3% to 18.49 leva per kilogram. Yogurt with a fat content of 3 and over 3 percent decreased in price by 1.85% to 1.38 leva per 400 gram bucket, and fresh milk increased in price by 0.34% to 2.35 leva per liter. Cow butter in a 125-gram package is cheaper by 3.06% and is sold at 3.06 leva per piece.
Frozen chicken meat increases in price by 0.58% to 6.99 leva per kilogram, and eggs size M - by 0.47% to 0.43 leva per piece wholesale.
Among basic food products, the price of rice increases by 3.04% to 3.39 leva per kilogram, while type 500 flour decreases in price by 0.79% to 1.51 leva per kilogram. Olive oil is trading at 3.28 leva per liter, up 1.23%. Sugar is down 2.37% to 1.81 leva per kilogram, ripe beans - 1.39% to 4.25 leva per kilogram, and lentils - 1.45% to 4.20 leva per kilogram.
