Flu viruses are expected in January and February. This was explained in the program “Wake up” on Nova TV by general practitioner Dr. Gergana Nikolova.
It is in the first two months of the year that there are big crowds in front of the offices. According to Dr. Nikolova, everything is the result of wrong decisions.
“For a very long time, the National Association of General Practitioners has been giving recommendations on what should be done so that the flu does not surprise us in the winter. And the vaccine is a sore subject for us. The risk groups are children, the chronically ill, people over 65. In January and February, they will be the most affected. Society must protect them. There is a vaccination program for people over 65, but where are the vaccines for children? Why didn't the state purchase vaccines for those children whose parents want to be vaccinated? There is no answer. We write, we propose, we insist”, said Dr. Nikolova.
She explained that this is the way to avoid overcrowded hospitals and over-hospitalizations.
Dr. Nikolova explained that the new strain of COVID - Nimbus - is already appearing.
