Due to damage to the contact network, the movement of trains on the Gurkovo - Tvarditsa interstation, part of the Sub-Balkan Railway Line (Sofia - Karlovo - Burgas), has been suspended since last night, informs the National Company “Railway Infrastructure“.
The movement was stopped shortly before 11 p.m. after the hurricane wind damaged the contact network, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.
Emergency teams of the State Enterprise NRIC were immediately formed, which are currently working to eliminate the damage and restore voltage to the contact network in the section.
Passengers from the affected trains are being transported by buses to the Tvarditsa - Dabovo section.
