Today Bulgaria received nearly 3 billion leva under the third payment from the NPV. This is the second payment made to our country during the government's mandate. This was announced on Facebook by Boyko Borissov, leader of GERB.
"I want to thank the European Commission and everyone who worked during these 11 months for the next nearly 3 billion leva today under the absolutely failed Plan over the last 4 years! I want to emphasize that from this absolutely failed Recovery Plan, the funds received from the European Commission during the year total over 4.5 billion leva, which exceeds more than half of our overall allocation under the NPF.
This means that the portfolio of the Bulgarian state for Bulgarian business is several billion leva higher. These funds mean real support for the Bulgarian economy and for public investments. Next year, our country is about to submit the final fourth and fifth payments under the mechanism.
We will not forget that for nearly 4 years Bulgaria was the only country in the EU that did not receive any funds under the NPF. The Recovery Plan was failed because of the PP-DB, who supposedly introduced reforms so that Boyko Rashkov could become chairman of the KPKONPI. They expected that the billions from the Plan would go to their oligarchs and because of this everything stalled. Today, the results speak for themselves. The difference between management with justifications and management with results is measurable in billions of euros for Bulgaria."
