A total of 54 fires were extinguished in the country over the past 24 hours, and fire departments responded to 93 reports of accidents, the General Directorate of "Fire Safety and Population Protection" (PBZN) reports on its website. Two people died in the fires.

The Central Fire and Rescue Service of the Sofia Fire Department received a report of smoke in a house in the capital's "Dragalevtsi" neighborhood yesterday afternoon. One fire truck was dispatched to the scene. Upon entering the house, a sofa was found smoldering in one of the rooms. A 90-year-old man was found dead in another room.
