These are obviously dreams without foundation, said the election expert from "Gallup" Prof. Mihail Konstantinov in the program "From the Day" on BNT in connection with the comments that the expected political project of the resigned President Rumen Radev will win 121 MP seats in the early parliamentary elections.
The answer will be given by the Bulgarian voter on April 19, when the elections will be held, added Prof. Konstantinov.
It is expected that there will be five parties in parliament, which means that five of the current ones will drop out. All parties, which currently have between 10 and 20 MPs, are threatened with relegation. The prospects for the new project are to take about 80 MPs, the election expert said.
There are no impossible coalitions, because behind the political forces stand the Bulgarian citizens, to whom we owe respect, he added.
Prof. Mihail Konstantinov criticized Radev for his resignation, noting that the head of state should resign only in extraordinary circumstances.
There is no such practice in Europe. Such a thing happened in Georgia with Saakashvili, who is now in prison, emphasized Prof. Konstantinov.
He noted that in order to hold fair elections, people who "can and know" must be appointed.
From Prof. Mikhail Konstantinov's words, it became clear that he supports Bulgaria's entry into the Peace Council initiated by US President Donald Trump.
I think it is high time for Bulgaria to get out of this international passivity that we have fallen into. This is an attempt by Bulgaria to intervene in international affairs. This is a very important step towards the independence of Bulgarian foreign policy. Why should we do everything that a not very European leadership leads us to? After all, this body is called the Peace Council, what's wrong with peace, commented Prof. Konstantinov.
