The consultation procedure for forming a caretaker government continues. President Iliana Yotova invited the next candidates who can become caretaker prime ministers according to the Constitution to a meeting.
On Wednesday (January 28) at “Dondukov” 2 she will talk with the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Dimitar Radev at 11 a.m., with the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank Petar Chobanov at 12 p.m., with his colleague Radoslav Milenkov at 1 p.m. and with the other Deputy Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank - Andrey Gyurov at 2:30 p.m.
On January 29 (Thursday), Yotova will receive the Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria Velislava Delcheva at the Presidency at 1 p.m., and an hour later her deputy Maria Filipova.
On Friday (January 30), the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts Dimitar Glavchev will visit the President at 11 a.m., as well as his two deputies - Margarita Nikolova and Silvia Kadreva, at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
On Tuesday, Yotova met with the Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan. She reiterated her position that she does not want to take the post of caretaker prime minister. We recall that some of the potential candidates have already refused such an appointment. Such a request was made by the Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva and the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank.
After a new caretaker prime minister is appointed, the date of the elections will be announced. According to the Constitution, the main task of the caretaker government is to organize and hold elections within two months of his appointment. This means that the vote can be scheduled earlier than this maximum deadline.
