The regular government meeting began without a speech by the resigned Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, the cabinet's press service announced.
Among the decisions on the agenda that the resigned ministers will discuss is a draft Decision on the adoption of a Six-month program with the priority topics and files for Bulgaria during the Cypriot presidency of the Council of the European Union (January 1 - June 30, 2026).
The agenda also includes a proposal to the president to issue a Decree on the appointment of an extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Bulgaria to Kazakhstan and an extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as an annual program for the country's participation in the decision-making process of the European Union in 2026.
The cabinet in resignation will discuss an updated National Plan for Countering Terrorism.
The cabinet's agenda also includes a draft Decision to approve a draft Agreement between the Government of Bulgaria and the Government of Serbia for the opening of a joint Border Checkpoint “Kalotina 2" (Bulgaria) and “Gradina 2" (Serbia), as well as a draft Agreement with the Government of Turkey for resolving issues related to border crossings between the two countries and for the opening of a new border crossing “Kapitan Andreevo - Kapıkule - north“.
