Nadezhda Yordanova on Radev's words: Russia, China and the USA cannot be an example for Bulgaria - 1

The entry of Rumen Radev into the field of the party competition in no way changes our priorities. This was said in the program "Face to Face" on BTV by the co-chair of the PG of "Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" Nadezhda Yordanova.

We are for Bulgaria's pro-European path not to be endangered. On the other hand, we are fighting for a change in the model of the conquered state - for the rule of law and reform of institutions. Whoever wants to work with us must comply with these two benchmarks. In view of what Radev has said in recent days, we cannot in any way accept that Bulgaria should take Russia, China and the US security system as an example. Bulgaria must participate in the European Union consensus for a strong Europe. We will not allow Bulgaria to deviate from this trajectory, Yordanova stated.

We are against closing the anti-corruption commission in the way they did it - its audit functions are being transferred to the Court of Accounts, the investigators - to the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption, and the files, evidence and archives collected so far are being transferred to the National Agency for the Protection of the Rights of the Child, which will store and manage them. We are observing a worrying covering up of traces, no real effort to improve the situation and under the pretext that a single bug is being closed, we are abandoning the fight against corruption on all fronts, she pointed out.

We had an alternative legislative proposal - The establishment of the conflict of interest and the declarations of public positions must be carried out by an independent body, added the co-chair of the PG of "Continuing the Change-Democratic Bulgaria".

She also commented on the restriction adopted today at first reading in the parliament in the number of polling stations abroad, in which Bulgarian citizens can vote during elections, to 20.

Our motive for voting against is rooted in the Constitution – Bulgarian citizens outside the territory of Bulgaria, wherever they are, have all rights and freedoms, and the right to vote is one of the fundamental rights in a democratic state. The moment Bulgarians abroad began to withdraw their support for them, they began to support this measure. After it became clear that Bulgarian Turks did not support MRF-New Beginning, they decided to punish them. This is an unprecedented restriction, this is a deal in someone's private interest, with which Peevski wants to show that whoever does not support him will be punished. GERB, BSP and "There is such a people" support the change in the Electoral Code, because people who vote abroad usually do not vote for these formations. At the moment when "Vazrazhdane" made this proposal in a committee, the Council of Ministers gave them part of a building on "Slaveykov" Square in the center of Sofia free of charge for 10 years. Apart from drawing the conclusion that this is an exchange of services, we cannot draw any other conclusion. We do not accept this and oppose it with all parliamentary means. We will see what happens between the first and second readings and depending on that we will decide how to proceed, Nadezhda Yordanova also said.

At the beginning of the conversation, she announced her support for the removed from the air of BTV presenter Maria Tsantsarova.

The silencing of one of the most prepared journalists is a problem for the media and for media freedom. Therefore, we from "Continuing Change-Democratic Bulgaria" will continue to boycott the morning block of the television, Yordanova emphasized.
