PP-DB wants the caretaker cabinet to replace the acting prosecutor general - 1

The caretaker cabinet must replace the acting prosecutor general. the Prosecutor General (currently Borislav Sarafov), because it was the Prosecutor General who provided an umbrella for vote buyers in the interim parliamentary elections.

This was announced by Ivaylo Mirchev at the PP-DB consultations with President Iliana Yotova, which preceded the election of a caretaker prime minister, quoted by bTV.

The meeting with the president from the PP-DB was attended by Asen Vassilev, Nikolay Denkov, Ivaylo Mirchev, Bozhidar Bozhanov, Atanas Atanasov, Nadezhda Yordanova and Yordan Ivanov from the coalition.

„We must meet the expectations of Bulgarian citizens. They demanded fair and transparent elections, they demanded good organization of the elections, in order to restore trust in Bulgarian institutions and the electoral process“, Iliana Yotova announced at the beginning of the meeting.

According to her, it is important to have continuity between the resigning government and the caretaker cabinet.

Yotova assured that consultations with the parliamentaryly represented forces will help her choose from the five candidates who agreed to take on the post of caretaker prime minister.

„I will fulfill my constitutional powers. With the old texts, perhaps my choice would have been different. However, the state cannot stop“, Yotova also announced.

Ivaylo Mirchev was the first to present the coalition's main expectations.

We have many arguments on how to hold fair elections. The previous elections were not fair“, said the PP-DB MP.

He also listed the most important conditions according to the formation for having fair elections - an interior minister who would do everything possible against vote buying, a justice minister who would replace the acting prosecutor general and the money allocated by the state to municipalities would not be used for vote buying, and the drain in the healthcare sector should be stopped.

The chairman of “We continue the change“ Assen Vassilev announced that Bulgaria has lost over 700 million leva due to the closure of the Anti-Corruption Commission. According to him, in terms of foreign policy, the caretaker government's main task is to restore trust in our country.

There are already rumors in the EP that Bulgaria does not have an Anti-Corruption Commission, has a Prosecutor General who the Bulgarian court considers illegitimate - this could trigger the rule of law clause, which means that not only the three billion under the PVP, but also all payments under it in general," added Vassilev. He also recalled that the derogation for "Lukoil" will expire soon.

The leader of the DSB Atanas Atanasov commented on the problems in the security services. According to him, the caretaker government should appoint a new director of the National Security Agency, since the service does not have a head, and the acting one was appointed by a government decision.

Yotova reminded that the presidency was stripped of its powers to participate in the election of heads of services.
